There's plenty more out back!
Nature, humanity and time meet at the intersection that is Gascoyne Junction – it is where the ancient Lyons and Gascoyne Rivers join up, and where the stock routes of the past overlapped.
As well, it is the place where the land still gives a clear view of life millions of years ago. The abundant fossil beds and unmistakable evidence of vast oceans of the distant past paint a fascinating picture.
Stars shine brightly in the clear night sky, a delight for the astronomers amongst us. In spring, wildflowers bloom and spread through the wide open spaces, creating carpets of colour.
Four-wheel drivers can experience off-road adventures, and with almost 2,000km of unsealed road to explore, most are accessible for conventional two-wheel drive vehicles, so everyone can explore our backyard. We welcome you. Pack your hiking shoes and get ready to wander out back.
